I am convinced that Christians need to integrate their faith with their work. As 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
I am also convinced that there are many challenges to figuring this out. The modern workplace is often fluid and flexible. People frequently transition to new jobs. Many live in intensely pluralistic societies with divergent visions of what ‘work’ should be. The threat of losing your job or missing a promotion can be very real.
So today I am announcing the launch of the “Vocational Testimonies” project. The goal is simple: by pooling together the stories of many Christians, from a wide range of vocations, with their insights on how to integrate faith and work, we will all benefit. Through the unique networking capacities of the internet, we can all gain access to a very wide source of vocational testimonies.
Here’s the idea:
- You share what you know about the integration of faith and work. This encourages others.
- Others share their stories. This encourages you.
- Together, we gain new insights and ideas about how to integrate our faith and our work!
I hope you will choose to participate. The more testimonies we gather together, the more benefit this project will be to everyone who visits the site.
