After introductory remarks and discussing my starting points, I introduce the primary thesis of the talk: If three popular perceptions about the Bible are successfully challenged, then it is rational to further investigate the truth of the Bible. An intellectually vigorous resolution to the question, “Is the Bible true?” requires more than thirty minutes.
The three popular perceptions I challenged are:
- The Bible is full of myths.
- The Bible contradicts itself.
- The Bible has been translated so many times we have no idea what it originally said.
You can access the slides for the talk as you listen to the audio. Enjoy!
